Before any refinishing project, take the time to thoroughly clean. Often, both solvent and water-based contaminants exist on the surface.  It is important to use a water-based cleaner such as SEM soap and a solvent-based cleaner such as SEM plastic/leather prep to ensure these contaminants are removed. SEM does have the right answer.
